Hush

Document a noise nuisance

Hush analyses audio recordings and creates a log of when noise occurred and how long it lasted, with audio clips for each incident.

Upload a recording from your phone or audio recorder. Hush identifies the noise and organises the results, saving you from listening through hours of audio and writing each entry yourself.

Automatic analysis is currently available for dog barking. For other types of noise, we offer a separate recording review service.

See when the noise happened

Hush turns your recording into a report you can review, download and use to support a noise complaint.

How to use Hush

  1. 1

    Record the noise

Use your phone or an audio recorder in the room where you hear the disturbance. Start with one night, or record over several days to capture a recurring problem.

Make a note of the date and time you start recording so Hush can give each incident the correct time.

  2. 2

    Upload your recording

Create an account, upload your files and enter the recording’s start time. Hush accepts common audio formats, including M4A, MP3 and WAV, as well as video recordings.

  3. 3

    Review the results

Hush analyses the recording and creates your timeline, audio clips and noise log. A full week of audio can take a day or two to process.

The first 24 hours are free, so you can review the results before paying for further analysis.

About sound levels

Hush shows changes in sound level to help you understand the recording.

Readings from a phone or an uncalibrated recorder are indicative. They are not certified sound measurements and do not replace a professional acoustic assessment.

You should also check any evidence requirements with the organisation handling your complaint.

Need help with another type of noise?

We can review recordings of music, shouting, banging, machinery and other noise, and prepare a log for you.
